Permits Needed To Start A Restaurant Business

When you open a restaurant business, there are many permits and licenses you will be required to have. The type of business license you will need will be different in each city, county, and state. There are some who require each business to register yearly, and they collect a fee from each registration. There are others that do not require a business to register if the business is not incorporated, unless you will be operating under an assumed or fictitious name.

To learn what type of licenses and permits you will need for the area your business will be located in, you need to talk to your county or city clerk. You will also want to check out the zoning ordinances and sign regulations that may apply to the type and location of your business.

Before you even think about obtaining licenses and permits, you will need to apply for a Federal Employer Identification Number or EIN. You can do this by visiting the IRS website. They will ask a few questions and you will be issued an EIN. This number identifies you to the government (IRS) as a business owner. Everyone who owns a business must have an EIN.

Below are some of the licenses and permits that you may need for your restaurant business.

1. A License for Business- Depending on your restaurant business location, you may be charged a percentage of your gross sales, or a simple yearly fee to operate your business.

2. A Food Handler's License or Permit- This is necessary for the selling of edible goods. Each state and county have their own set of rules and amount of fee charged. You will be inspected regularly by health inspectors to make sure you are running a clean restaurant business.

3. A Liquor License- having a liquor license will allow you to sell alcohol. It is essential to have one if you plan on selling any alcohol in your restaurant business. The type of license you apply for will depend on what sort of alcohol your restaurant will serve. Many states will require that you obtain a one license for beer, another for wine, and yet another for hard liquor. The state only allows a certain number of liquor licenses for an area. If none are available you, you will need to purchase the license from someone who already has one and is willing to sell. These can be renewed yearly, unless you have committed an illegal offense such as, selling liquor to a minor, or selling liquor you do not have a license for.

4. A Sign Permit- Before you put up any signs for your restaurant business, contact your city officials to see if there are restrictions on the type of sign, size, location, and how the sign is lit. You should also get written approval from your landlord before you put up any sort of sign.

5. A Music License- Any establishment that plays copyrighted music, will need one of these. Whether you have a band, DJ playing CDs, or Karaoke. The fines can be steep for not having a music license. They usually run from $5,000 to $20,000, so it's a good idea to obtain this license.

6. Fire Certificates- You will undoubtedly be inspected by the fire department before you open your restaurant business. They will educate you on all regulations you will need to follow, and will do routine inspections on your business.
Other permits you may need include: a Police Permit, a Sellers Permit (allows you to buy wholesale goods without paying sales tax), and a Building or Zoning Permit.

The laws and regulations of any area are subject to change, it will be important to join your local and National Restaurant Association. Keep informed on the changes in local government also.

Poptropica - Fun Websites for Kids

Poptropica is a fun website for kids that was launched in September 2011 by the Family Education Network. Poptropica is aimed at children from age 6 to 15 and exists in an educational format where children play games, travel and communicate with each other only at a safe level. Though the game's format remains the same, there is a new game (called an island) that changes every so often. Players are given advanced notice when an island will end and a new one is created.

Before 2010, membership fees did not exist. Memberships begin at $3.95 US per month for one month; $10.95 US for six months; and $19.95 US for an annual membership. Prices vary according to what country a player is from - simply click on the corresponding country and the price for that country will automatically be displayed. Paid members get free access to items in the Poptropica store (but do not own them). They also get early access to new islands. There is a free membership for children; however, their movement within the virtual world is limited. Players can also gain access to special costumes for their avatar and gain exclusive abilities by purchasing Poptropica credits. These credits can also be obtained by completing online games. Poptropica requires a broadband internet connection, at least 512MB of RAM and the installation of Adobe Flash Player. The game is played through Poptropica's website.

Features

The main focus of Poptropica is the avatar's travels through the islands that are released throughout the year. These are mini-adventures which follow a plot that usually involves players solving puzzles, riddles or clues from past historical events that are educational in some manner. Some of the plots may be too complex for younger players, but since there have been a myriad of islands created, there is no shortage of content from which to choose from. In July 2011, Poptropica made all older islands available to players to play again. There are now over 20 islands to choose from.

What's Good

Poptropica is an educational website that will appeal mainly to children from age 7 to 15. The wide range of appeal is mainly due to two factors: the absence of graphic violence and non-safe chat; and the educational component and above-average plots of each island. Creating an educational MMORPG that is a success is a challenge because it must be able to hold the attention of older players who are more than used to adult-themed games. For Poptropica to be a success, the educational component must use humor, light-heartedness and a sophisticated but understandable plot. Poptropica has succeeded in these key areas.

What's Bad

Acquiring merchandise for their avatars and toys outside the game may be an issue, but the positives far outweigh this minor negative.

Online Safety

The part of all virtual worlds that get negative marks is online chat. The owners of Poptropica have wisely decided not to go down this path. The only chat available is safe, pre-scripted chat. No personal information about children is ever collected and since there is no chat, it is never shared. A parent is in control when paying and renewing a membership. The safety policy is prominently displayed and written plainly.

School Homecoming Prom, Dance, and Party Ideas and Themes

Is your student body planning a high school prom, dance, or party? Do you need ideas for your themes? Well look no further we can help spark your creative juices by going over several factors that determine a successful prom.

High School Homecoming

Most High School Homecomings are organized by Student Council Advisors. Now the main idea for a homecoming is to promote school spirit. The planning that goes into a homecoming or party is not as involved as your High School Prom. This does not mean that the decorations should get overlooked at your schools homecoming. We will discuss those ideas later.

High School Prom

At a majority of High Schools, their Proms are planned by the Junior Class Prom Committee. The prom is the send off for the school's upper class students. There can be two separate proms depending on the size of your junior and senior class. Some schools in different districts go as far as to combine proms due to smaller class sizes. Since the High School Prom is a formal event, it is usually receives more attention and funding.

High School Homecoming Dance Ideas

So you and your committee are looking for ideas for your homecoming, dance, or party. Your themes depend mostly on the traditions of your school. Try to tie in what your school mascot. If your party or dance is something more casual, then it may be predetermined. The basic ingredients for successful school homecoming dance are music, hype, and energy. The company you hire for the Michigan DJ can make or break your ticket sales for the next dance depending on how the music was balanced. How well your committee hypes the party will determine the outcome as well. Do not forget that the energy level at your school homecoming dance will be based on how much decorating your group does.

High School Prom Themes

Your High School Prom theme deserves more attention than the typical High School Homecoming. This means spending more time selecting a reputable venue location, caterer, photographer, and Michigan DJ Company. Here is a list of High School Prom themes for you to choose from.

The Ultimate Dance for your Students

Selecting a theme and going over ideas will help guarantee a fun and memorable event. This is a key component in producing an unforgettable prom or homecoming dance. First, think about the type of prom you want to have, whether you want it to be romantic, fun, or mysterious. Most schools develop themes that generally set the guidelines for the prom colors and decorations. Some schools have become more creative by revolving the entire dance party around the theme and ideas. This goes all the way down to the students costume attire to decorations. Whatever theme your committee chooses, make sure it fits the personality and customs of your student body.

Amazing Lottery Secrets - Just the Facts!

When it comes to Lottery Secrets, we've discovered amazing and powerful
information, that we feel anyone who plays their respective lottery should
be aware of. Did you know that the greatest percentage of lottery players
choose to "quick pick" their numbers?

If you knew this bit of information you might want to reconsider. 80% of
lottery players choose the quick pick method. This is where you let the
lottery machine choose your numbers. That leaves 20% of lottery players
selecting their own sets of numbers to play.

Here's where it becomes interesting, when the lotteries were asked:
"What is the percentage of quick pick wins in relation to player selected
wins?" and they said without hesitation 50/50.

For more information:
  • http:wealthsmith.com/Lottery.htm
  • So, if the 80% quick pick wins 50% of the time, and the 20% player
selected, wins 50% of the time, which group would you have the
    better odds of winning?

You see, knowing more about how things work can make your outcome
more favorable. Did you know that the odds of a set of lottery numbers
repeating themselves is astronomically improbable. Wouldn't it be to your
advantage to know if the numbers you hand select has ever been played?

Did you know the number of times a lottery number set delivers so many
odd numbers vs even numbers could give you an advantage? There is
literally an enormous amount of undisputable evidence and facts that can
make playing and winning your lottery more possible for you.

    For more information:
  • http:wealthsmith.com/Lottery.htm
  • Knowing what numbers appear more often and which bonus ball has hit
more often can be very enlightening. There are other interesting facts that
are considered and played with great success. For instance, if a number
has appeared in a number of recent drawings so many times, it will grow
cold after that number of times. You certainly would want to know that
    bit of information.

Do you play in a small group of friends or family? This can better your
odds considerably with a little insider information. No, we don't profess to
work for the lottery, just that by playing in a group and selecting key numbers
can almost assure your group of a win every time.

Powerball is a multi-state lottery that is soon to make changes in their lottery
game. To entice their players even more, they will soon be making some
interesting changes. They will be adding 2 more regular ball numbers, so
the total regular ball numbers will be 55. They are also increasing the amount
that they will pay if you hit just the 5 regular numbers and miss the red or
Powerball bonus number. If you hit just the 5 regular numbers it will pay
$200,000, this used to be only $100,000. To take this a step further, if you
chose the "Powerplay" option which multiplies you winnings by as little as
2 times or as much as 5 times, you can now win as much as $1,000,000
by hitting just the 5 regular numbers and missing the bonus ball number.
That's pretty cool! 5 out of 6 and it can win you a cool million dollars.

    For more information:
  • http:wealthsmith.com/Lottery.htm
  • These changes with the Powerball Game came about when the lottery board
saw back in March of 2005 that too many jackpot winners were happening too
close together. This was not allowing the jackpot to grow and reducing the
lottery's revenue when the jackpot wasn't large enough to take in more players.
Think it could be, more players are discovering "lottery secrets"?

Obviously, the more the jackpot grows, the more people will play, but now with
the new changes soon to take effect, the possibilities of hitting a million dollar
pot on any given draw will increase playing on a more consistent basis. Overall,
the amount of players will actually increase regardless of the jackpot total, smart
thinking of someone's part, wouldn't you say?

Having constantly updated statistics available can make a significant difference
in your lottery playing experience, playing without it can leave you, well, where
you been so far, still wishing for a big win. Lotteries are a game of chance with
incredible odds in their favor, reducing those odds with facts and history is giving
you a much greater chance at winning the cash you hope to find.

How to Win the Lottery - How to Pick the Winning Lotto Numbers

Anyone can figure out how to win the lottery or at the very least increase their odds of winning the lottery if shown the right way. I know there are several systems out there on the market that say they will show you how to pick the winning lottery numbers. So what is the best way to pick winning lottery numbers?

First of all you are going to have to do a little work. Most people will tell you that winning the lottery is totally random and that you cannot pick what the winning numbers will be and it is all just plain dumb luck. Without getting too complicated, all you have to do is look at a few how to win the lottery products and check out the system and see what results it has. It is that simple. What you need to do is go with the system or product that is a proven winner. If a product has proven itself then there must be something of value in the information that is being provided.

You need to remember that looking for ways on how to win the lottery and winning the lottery are very different realities. One states that finding a secret formula that will help you win the lottery and the other is what you can expect if you do manage to discover the elusive formula and apply it.

Are you ready to win the lotto?
When someone wins the lottery it might not be the best thing that has ever happened to you. The truth is in several instances it has been the worst thing to happen to some lotto winners. Some people end up losing all of their winnings after a few years and end up being broke. How can something like this happen? Well it is very easily actually, if you have not had that kind of money before, the chances are good that you won't properly manage your money and you could be talked into doing things with your money that might not be in your best interest.

To make matters worse winning the lottery has caused bitter feuds among friends and family. There have been cases of family members suing each other over the lottery winnings, each person stating that they have claim to the money. Hitting the jackpot can tear families apart if you are not careful.

One thing that should not ignore is the fact that many people have won the lottery using lotto systems themselves. This is the real way to find out how to win the lottery. When everything is said and done it is the results that count. All of the over-rated and hyped up,math equations and formulas don't mean anything if the lotto numbers you pick do not come up.

When you do a little background work you can eliminate a lot of the products out there to just a couple that you feel have real potential to deliver on their promises. Use the system yourself to see if their way on how to win the lottery does really work. Some of these products are really interesting but just because they hold your interest does not mean that they will work.

    Only two possible outcomes:

    1. You will not win and you will have lost the money that you paid for the lottery Book.

    2. You will win the lotto and the small investment that you made will look like peanuts compared to your winnings.

Just about everyone would like to know "how to win the lottery". The question that you need to ask yourself is are you ready to invest for the cost of the lottery Book and satisfy your curiosity, or are you going to let this opportunity just pass you by?

    Western Theme Party

    Think rustic and hearty!

Old lanterns, jugs, and bales of hay make great decorations. You can also use kerosene lamps and washtubs as accents. A game of horseshoes next to a roaring bonfire is a great activity for socializing. Sing-along western songs can liven up the bunch, and karaoke takes cowboy tunes to a new dimension. Claim Back Your US Withholding Tax on Casino and Lottery Winnings

Millions travel each and every year to United States gambling hot spots. Although Las Vegas and Atlantic City are the gambler traveling hot spots in the US, many other states offer very popular Native American Casinos. Casinos payout millions of dollars each year to thousands of lucky winners. It may not seem like it to most, but someone has to win big, and someone does. Hopefully it will be you on your next trip to Las Vegas. If your one of the lucky winners at the Casino, you may be in for a shock. If you are from a country like Canada, you may not expect to be taxed on your winnings. In the United States you will be taxed a 30% withholding tax. If you win a million dollars the casino will hold 30% of your winnings. Casinos are required by law to withhold the 30% withholding tax.

As a non-resident you can claim back this withholding tax. Depending on your country of origin, you can file to have some or all of the withholding Tax refunded to you. If you have won, contact a professional casino refund service to help you get some of your winnings back. A professional service will be familiar with not only the forms to be filed, but the tax laws of both the United States and your country of origin. They will help maximize the amount that will be refunded to you. Canada has a tax treaty with the US, so Canadians will most likely not get a full refund of the withholding tax, but a good professional service will help you get the maximum money back. If you are from any of the followings countries: Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Hungary, Ireland, Japan, Italy Latvia, Netherlands, Russian Federation, Slovak Republic, Slovenia, South Africa, Spain, Sweden, Tunisia, Turkey, Ukraine, Austria, and the United Kingdom, you will happily receive a full refund.

In addition to casino winnings, you will also be taxed the same on any state lottery winnings if you buy a ticket. If you gamble professionally, or just an amateur who have joined the growing masses playing Poker tournaments and win on US soil, you will also be subject to the withholding Tax.

What Happens to Unclaimed Lottery Prizes?

Can you imagine someone spending money on lottery tickets, actually winning a big jackpot, and never claiming their prize? That sounds crazy, right? Who in their right mind would not claim a big lottery win? Actually, although it is hard to believe, it does happen and there are numerous reasons why it does happen. Sometimes people make a mistake when checking their numbers and don't even realize that they won. Sometimes people lose their tickets. Sometimes people don't even remember that they bought a ticket and, hence, don't even check it. Absolutely anything can happen. It's true because, every year, there are hundreds of millions of dollars in unclaimed lottery winnings. What, then, happens to unclaimed lottery prizes?

Every lottery is different but, generally, one of two things happens with unclaimed lottery prizes: Either the unclaimed money goes back into the prize pool or the lottery corporation distributes it back into the social services that it supports, like education for example.

Let's look at one of the biggest lotteries in the United States - Powerball. If a Powerball jackpot goes unclaimed, the prize money is distributed back to all of the state lotteries that participate in the game, proportionate to their total sales. The state lotteries then can decide what to do with the money and, often, it goes right back into helping the communities.

Now consider one of the biggest lotteries in Canada - Lotto 649. If a Lotto 649 jackpot goes unclaimed, unlike Powerball, the unclaimed money does not go back to the provincial lotteries. Rather, it goes back into the prize pool and returned to players through future bonus jackpots or promotions. So, for example, Lotto 649 might increase the size of the guaranteed jackpots for a few subsequent draws in a row. Or they might have a special one time only bonus where they will draw an extra set of numbers that players must match to win the prize. Either way, the players benefit with extra prizes.

As you can see, all lotteries have variations on what they do with their unclaimed lottery prizes. Each one treats the unclaimed prizes differently. If you want to know what exactly happens with unclaimed money for the lottery that you play, the best thing to do is to log onto that lottery's website and look at its FAQ section. There, it will tell you what happens to the money.

Best Slot Machines to Win - Slot Machine Gambling Casino Tips

If you want to pick the best slot machines to win, then read this. You will learn slot machine gambling Casino tips to realistically win more in slots.

Slot machines are one of the most favorite spots in the Casinos. The combination's displayed on the reels make the adrenaline of both player and watchers surge high. It gives a good feeling being thrilled and satisfied most especially if the player wins the jackpot. These days, winning at slot machines is not brought by mere luck but by extra effort exerted by the player. Indeed, lucky charms are not so much effective at slot machines. If you are a slot player, you have to have strategies to gain more than the fun.

If you are a first time player of slots, it is better to learn of the rules and regulations governing the game first. Researching through the internet and asking the staff of the Casino about their certain rules are extra efforts you need to at least do if you want a better and fulfilling game. In addition, try inquiring from the staff of the casino about any details that you will be needing in your game. Some of the most important things you should be asking are details on the payouts, giveaways, and bonuses. Do not hesitate to ask them as this is their job - to entertain and assist you as their customers.

Also, if you are a first time player, try having practices first before betting real money. In both online and traditional land based casinos, there are free games and fun modes which a player may use for practice. Slots may be an easy game but you need to develop strategies for it if you want to have better and more satisfying slot games.

Now, before you enter the casino, prepare your self. Do not go in there on impulse. It is recommended that you set a certain budget for your game. Assess your self if how much you can afford to spend on that day. To be sure, convince your self how much you can afford to lose that day. If not, set a certain time frame for your leisure time in the casino. Once you reached the limit (you consumed all the set budget or the time has lapsed), stop playing and leave the casino. It is true that being in the casino and playing at slot machines is addicting. However, you have your own will and self control. Do not ever think to win back all your lost money. This is quite near impossible. If you happened to win at a slot machine, have your prize in check and play with another slot machine. That slot machine will win your prize back. The reason why you have to have the prize in check is that for you to avoid using your prize to play. Casinos accept only cash; no vouchers or check.

We have mentioned on the earlier paragraphs that you inquire about freebies and bonuses the casino offers. This is important for you to at least have compensation even if you had many losing blues. Find and play with slot machines that offer free rounds or free spins. Look for those that give extra other bonuses. If there are any opportunities that you can have complimentary items, grab it. For example, if the casino gives you a club card, get it and do not forget to use it every time you play. Insert it at the designated area in the machine to be able to accrue points which you may trade for comps.

Office Christmas Party - The Holiday Drag!

The Office Christmas party is often one big holiday bore. An event most employees feel obligated to attend but few enjoy. It's time to break the crappy celebration cycle! With a little creativity and imagination your office Christmas party can be an event that the company staff looks forward to each year.

Let's start with some newer planning ideas. If your company is a small to mid-sized operation a shared party is a great option. Like minded or complimentary companies share the venue and expense. A shared Christmas party will inject that "new and different" element to your affair. Guest will meet new people, and make professional connections; the companies will share in the expenses making it a "win-win event for everyone. Shared parties can be organized by party planning agencies who have experience in knowing which types of companies mix well. If your company party is being planned in-house, another option for organizing a shared party is to team up with vendors or clients that your company members enact with regularly.

Themes can go a long way to set the mood for party fun. The right theme spells fun but the wrong theme can be a party killer! Your party theme should fit the profile of your company and staff. Are most of your staff in their 20's and 30's? A party atmosphere with emphasis on music, dancing and drinking fits the bill. If the majority of your company is in their 30's and 40's or older a celebration focused on a wonderful dining experience followed by light music and dancing is a good option. Maybe your staff is very family oriented? An event that includes children with family-type games and activities would be a nice option. Consider two smaller type celebrations - a breakfast with Santa for the families and an evening of music and dancing for everyone.

Christmas parties don't have to stick to holiday-type themes. Getting a little creative with different themes can make for a great night. There are a number of great party themes that will set a fun and festive party mood without the old worn out red and green décor. Some super theme ideas are:

  • Rio Carnival

  • Las Vegas Casino

  • Futuristic Fantasy

  • 20s Speakeasy

  • Murder Mystery

  • 60's, 70's or 80's

  • Scavenger Hunt

  • Indoor Sports Party

  • Talent Show
  • There are hundreds of great party ideas with activities and events that follow the theme perfectly to get the party started and keep it going until last call. Professional party planners can help you choose a great party theme for your crowd and coordinate activities, refreshments and events for the celebration.

Another option to ensure office Christmas party success is to let your staff choose their own party. Giving your staff members party options to vote on is a great way to boost attendance and guarantee a great time. Put out a survey with party options and let your staff vote for the type of party preferred by the majority.

Whatever theme and venue is selected there are a number of activities that can add to the party fun. A roaming photographer can put guest photos with funny sayings in a presentation that is run throughout the party. Activities, games and contest always add to party fun. Management could volunteer childhood photos for the party guest to guess who is who. Door prizes with a great prize is a good way to keep an air of excitement as guest wait to see who wins the big prize.

If your office Christmas party is a more intimate affair there are a number of fun group games to keep the party interesting. Games are an important part of any party or celebration. Try some of these holiday games:

Christmas Gift Swap Have each guest bring a wrapped Christmas gift to exchange. Players will then each draw a number out of a hat. Whoever goes first gets to choose and open one of the gifts. Player number 2 will then have the option of "stealing" that gift or selecting and opening another gift. As the play goes on, players who have the higher numbers will be able to select from any of the opened gifts or a new gift. This games is great fun!

Christmas Scavenger Hunt Create a list of clues for Christmas-themed objects hidden around the party area. Guests first must solve the clue and then search for the item. The first person to find all of the items on the list wins. This is a great game for teams or departments for light-hearted competition.

Christmas Carol Game Sit the players in a circle and begin by having the first person sing the first line of a popular Christmas song or carol. The next player must sing the second line of the song. Play continues until a player doesn't know the next line to the song. That person is then "out" and players can start over with a new song. Have song lyric sheets available for players to refer to if there is a question over the correct words to the songs.

Whether your office Christmas party is a large lavish affair or a small intimate celebration; a little creativity, planning and imagination will make it an event that everyone looks forward to attending.

Online Casino: Texas Holdem Online Poker

This Texas Holdem game began to become quite popular after the game began to be televised. Suddenly the biggest tournaments in Texas Holdem were being shown on mainstream television stations such as ESPN. As the general public began to watch the game, they decided that they liked it more and more and wanted to know more about how this game was played.

Texas Holdem is just a variation of the other Poker games that came before it. The rules themselves are rather simple to learn once you get the hang of it. It is the strategy that keeps people playing the game every day.

In online Poker you start with between 2 and 9 people playing at a single table. Each of the players is dealt two cards from the deck face down. These cards are their cards alone and they do not share what these cards are with any other players. Before they are even dealt these cards though, each player is required to put in a small amount of their chips or money into the pot. Typically this is done in the form of a small blind and a big blind. The small blind requires the player to put in less money than the big blind, but the blinds rotate to each player around the table at the end of each hand.

If you are going to continue to play your hand, then you must put in at least the amount of the big blind into the pot. If you want to put in more this is called a raise. Once you have done this, then all other players who want to continue to play their hands must put in the amount that you have raised to. If you feel that you do not have good cards, then you do not have to continue to play and you put no money in the pot. This process is called folding.

Once all players have decided if they are going to continue playing and have put in the proper amount into the pot, then the dealer puts three cards in the middle of the table face up. These cards are known as community cards and all players at the table use these cards to try to form the best hand. If you are holding a King in your hand and another King is now one of the community cards, then you have a pair of Kings.

After those three cards have been dealt, then another round of betting opens up. You follow the same procedures that you did in the opening round of betting only with the players that have not already folded. If all players but one fold, then there is no need to go any farther at that point. If that happens, then the one remaining player has won the pot.

These steps are followed through two more community cards played out one at a time unless all but one players folds. If at least two players play out all the way through all five community cards, then those remaining players are required to show their cards. The player with the best hand wins the pot at that point. The game plays on like this the same way for as long as the players have predetermined (amount of time or until one player has all the money/chips).

If you are interested in playing and learning texas holdem poker, then you should jump online onto your favorite online casino to give it a whirl today. This is a good place to learn the game before you try playing in a real live casino. Try it out today and see what all the buzz is about.

Taylor Lautner's Workout Routine As Jacob Black in New Moon

Before Describing Taylor Lautner's Workout, Here is a Quick Bio...

Taylor Lautner was born on February 12, 1992. So was 17 at the time Twilight New Moon was filmed. From the age of 6 to 13 was accomplished in martial arts. At the age of 12 he won the Junior World Championships as a black belt in karate. Lautner began his acting career in 2001, and by 2008 played Jacob Black the native american character in Twilight.

The Director Considered Casting Someone Else to Play Jacob Black in New Moon

The Director of New Moon, Catherine Hardwicke, considered casting someone else to replace Taylor Lautner. She wanted someone with more muscle and more believable to play Jacob Black. You see, Jacob turns into a werewolf in this movie and she wanted someone with a stronger physical presence than Taylor Lautner.

Taylor Had to Gain Muscle Quickly or Possibly Lose His Role in New Moon

Luckily Taylor had the stong martial arts background which aided him in getting this ripped look. If this was just a 17 year-old with a less athletic background, there is no way he would have been able to display the same degree of muscle tone in such a short period of time.

The Secret to Jacob Black's Six Pack Abs

Taylor Lautner's abs were not just a result of the 9 months of training leading up to the shooting of New Moon. His years of martial arts training created muscle density and muscle maturity normally not seen until someone reaches their mid-20's. People who compete in martial arts derive power from tightening their core...this tightening over time builds hard and defined muscles in the abs. The way to reveal the abs is dieitng down to a low body fat percentage, but the reason Taylor Lautner had an excpetional six pack was due to his martial arts experience.

The Gaining Muscle Part for Taylor Was Easy

Taylor quickly put on 20 pounds of mass due to his age. The thing that fitness magazines never tell you is that you are easily able to gain mass when you first workout. The amount of muscle Taylor put on his body was the natural amount of muscle he was suppose to have. He isn't big by any stretch of the imagination, which is good. Like just about any young guy I've worked with, Taylor was able to quickly fill in and get close to his genetic potential quickly. He did it in 9 months, since he had so much time he could devote to this...this typically takes 12-24 months for most guys.

When Interviewed About How He Got in Shape for New Moon...

If you see any of Taylor Lautner's interviews, you will notice he is pretty vague about his workouts...he says things like "I worked out a lot and ate a lot". Honestly, this is all it takes for a young guy in his late teens to early 20's to gain those 15-25 pounds. The trick is to then get lean and ripped. This is where I come in and help men and women get that lean "Hollywood" look...

I teach men and women to get lean like Taylor Lautner on a regular basis. Click below to get a FREE 56 page case study where I helped two guys get as lean as Cam Gigandet in Never Back Down (video proof over on my site)...

Once I learned how to study the numbers and had the knowledge to plan out my strategy, I stopped wasting my money and started winning prizes. I admit I haven't hit the big one yet, but it's just a matter of time.

The odds of winning are so high we wonder how so many people actually do win the jackpot. Most winners don't play quick pick or pick their numbers at random. They map out their numbers and they acquire the knowledge needed to win. The pick their numbers by studying a pattern of the last several drawings from the lottery game they are playing.

They see a hot streak of winning numbers from previous drawings and they use them to their advantage. They know how to mix up their numbers and how to even them out. So read these 5 quick tips for your best chances to win the lottery.

1- Play One Game at a Time- While you're learning your skills, it is best to play one game at a time. So you want to pick either the 5 number game or the 6 number game. The 6 number is much harder to win because of the extra numbers making your odds very high. But the 5 number game has fewer numbers and reduces your odds by millions.

2- Choose Numbers Wisely-There are some people that play all odd or all even numbers. For some reason they think those numbers will hit, but that rarely happens. The best way is to even them out, such as 3 odd and 3 even depending on the game you are playing. Or in a 5 number game you can chose 3 odd and 2 even numbers or the other way around. Also, you never want to play random numbers or special numbers such as anniversaries, birthdays, etc.

3- Keep Playing- Don't miss any games. If you decide from the beginning to play once a week, stick with that. About the time you miss a game, your numbers could hit. It's happened to me several times. I finally learned my lesson.

4- Use the Same Numbers- If you keep switching your numbers, you will never win. People get anxious and change their numbers for each drawing. You have picked your numbers carefully, so keep playing them until they hit. You should get some winning tickets and then eventually hit the big one.

5- The Number Pattern- With every lottery game in the world, there is a pattern of the winning numbers. You need to study the past several weeks to notice it. I make a chart then I write down how many times each number was drawn and when. It sort of looks like a graph and it gives you a map of the numbers to choose. Jot down how many times each number was drawn and definitely play the most frequent drawn numbers.

If you follow these 5 easy steps on how to pick winning lottery numbers, you'll start to have more winning tickets. Nobody can predict the winning combination, but these tips will give you an edge over playing numbers randomly. You will be able to play more for your money while your chances are dramatically increased.

These 5 quick tips are your best chances to win the lottery. You'll notice how many prizes you'll get after you change your way of playing the lottery.

    Free Running

'Free running' Parkour is a sport in which contestants try to pass obstacles in their surroundings as quickly and smoothly as possible. Founded by David Belle, its origins are in France and Sébastien Foucan gave it its English name. The game was inspired by the 'Natural Method of Physical Culture' developed by George Hébert in the early 20th century. Raymond Belle, a Vietnam soldier, introduced the game to his son David.

A group called Yamakasi was set up to establish the game, but the members fell out with each other because of disagreements. 'Yamakasi' is a Lingala word, spoken in the Democratic Republic of Congo and it means 'strong spirit, strong body, strong man.' For many, Parkour is an extreme sport while others compare it to martial arts like karate. It is admired as an art of movement or, as the French prefer to call it, "l'art du déplacement". It has a sense of freedom, the ability to overcome boundaries. You could jump from railings, staircases, jump over walls and any other thing that is in your way. Contestants would move from point A to B in a steady and continuous manner. The movements could be forward, over, under, around and through obstacles. These obstacles could be man-made or natural.

People who practice Parkour are called traceurs or free runners. They could be running, jumping, climbing and using any other complicated techniques. Essentially actions have to be adapted to the given circumstances, so that obstacles may be overcome with human capabilities. David Belle said the "spirit" of free running is directed somewhat by the concept of escaping and reaching. So the contestant has to be quick-thinking and agile to reach the goal, much like hunters of the primitive days. Another well-known traceur Sébastien Foucan remarks on its fluidity and beauty. Jerome Ben Aoues, an experienced traceur speaks about this in a documentary made on Parkour called Jump London. He speaks of the sheer elegance and beauty of the sport.

If one thinks about it, we are, naturally, free runners and have been so since our child hood. Have a look at children - they are always bursting out of their confines. As the commentary in Jump London says, "And really the whole town was there for us; there for free running." Many purists do not agree with the outlandish techniques associated with free running.

A traceur would need good running and jumping techniques. Rolling to reduce impact and vaulting to clear barriers could be advantages. David Belle says that efficient movement is the key in Parkour, so flips and tricks wouldn't really be part of the game.

Parkour seems to be getting more and more popular. The British public first saw it in all its beauty in 2002, in the BBC station trailer Rush Hour, as David Belle jumped across rooftops to go from his office to home, to see his favorite BBC program. The James Bond thriller, "Casino Royale" rooftop chase is considered a Parkour sequence. As are certain sequences in the Nike ads. Today the sport seems to be growing commercially and there is training available. But as it is a new concept, it is continuously evolving and changing.

LED Lighting Vs Fluorescent Tubes - A Simple Question of Health and Energy Savings

LED lighting is truly the next generation technology which features numerous benefits to not only consumers for Home LED Lighting, but businesses alike, with LED Downlighting products and LED Tubes which can replace out-dated, buzzing fluorescent lighting. LED lighting offers such benefits as a higher energy efficiency than CFLs and fluorescents, lower power consumption, lower maintenance costs, longer lifetime (50,000 hours compared to less than 10,000), durability and brighter light output than conventional fluorescent lighting. LED lighting is slowly filling the Home Lighting and Business Lighting market place with such innovative products as LED T5 and LED T8 Tubes, Flexible LED Lighting, and LED Down Lighting.

Fluorescent lighting contains toxic materials such as mercury which is harmful to environment and human body. Did you know that if you drop or break a fluorescent bulb you must leave the room for 4 hours, due to the toxic materials floating in the air, which could cause respiratory damage, or Asthma in the long run for workers who have to deal with these fixtures daily. For workers and personnel who replace fluorescent tubes at work such as electricians are the most impressed by LED tubes, since they are not only easier to install, requiring no ballast, but they are worry-free, as they can last upwards of 10 years, on for 24 hours a day, and do not contain any toxic materials like mercury dust that fluorescents do. For quick installation, LED tube lighting can be placed and installed directly into existing fluorescent T5 and T8 sized sockets, you only need to remove the ballast, plug the LED bulbs in, and you're done! Contrary to popular belief, LEDs are very easy to install in this day and age, and the bulk of LED products are now "plug-and-play" while still offering a slick look with unmatched energy savings.

Although fluorescent lighting is more energy efficient than incandescent lighting, it is still an energy wasting monster when compared with LED lighting. For businesses who have a large electric bill, switching to LEDs could cut your energy bill in half, while still keeping all of the brightness, and no fluorescent flickering! Even with the most advanced state of the art CFLs, fluorescent lighting accounts for a high percentage in existing lighting all over the world, switching from fluorescent lighting into LED lighting can greatly reduce the global lighting power consumption and greenhouse gas emissions. Now let's do some detailed analysis to compare LED and fluorescent lighting, and there is no doubt that LED will defeat fluorescent lighting.

First of all, LED lighting is more energy efficient than fluorescent lighting due to the high efficacy of LEDs. LEDs for interior lighting have already broken the efficacy record of 100 lumen per watt, while fluorescent lighting only has an efficacy of around 60 lumen per watt. LED has a power factor of 0.9, which means most of the power is converted into light, but when fluorescent lighting works, a huge amount of power is converted into heat which will be dispersed finally. LED lighting consumes only 30% energy as fluorescent lighting to deliver the same lumen output.

Secondly, Flexible LED lighting has a much longer lifetime than fluorescent lighting since LED lighting is solid state lighting which more stable and reliable. LEDs can last over 50,000 hours which means 17 years under normal use. Whereas fluorescent lighting only has a lifetime of around 5,000 hours, which means you have to replace them as often. Using LED lighting can greatly save your expenses which are used to buy new light bulbs and pay for the labor.

In addition, the light quality of LED down lighting is much better than that of fluorescent lighting. Fluorescent lighting is always flickering when start up, while LED lighting is quick to start up without any flickering. We all know and have seen or live with flickering fluorescent tubes on a daily basis. They've actually been proven to cause headaches, due to the micro-pulse wavelength they emit. Using LEDs can reduce workplace strain, headaches, and increase efficiency, with workers at top performance, minus the migraines from CFLs!

When on for hours a day, for a long period of time, fluorescent lighting may have some hot spots due to heat it generates, which does not happen to LED lighting. These hotspots cause the rest of the light to become dimmer, and quickly results in a dead CFL tube, a perfect reason to switch to LED T8 Tubes or T5 tubes, depending on the socket size. Fluorescent lighting / CFL pigtails can cause eyestrain, but LED lighting does not as a result of its uniform and unparalleled balanced light output, and does not flicker or emit a low pitched humming like the earlier fluorescent technology. Today, Flexible LED Lighting, Home LEDs, and Downlighs / LED Tubes are more eco-friendly than ever, beating fluorescent lighting by upwards of 500% - Translation: Savings on your energy bill for both your home and office lighting fixtures. And of course, Fluorescent lighting contains toxic materials such as mercury which can cause air pollution if broken, and when thrown out and can cause permanent damage to the lungs and throat / skin if contact is frequent, or daily.

In contrast, LED lighting is solid state lighting which does not contain any filaments that could break (like incandescent) or hazardous materials like CFLs. Someone may say that the upfront costs of LED lighting is too high, due to the technology used to achieve such a high lumens per watt (efficacy) rating, it is true. However, think about the long term energy savings, and savings you will get from not needing to replace the lights, for up to 5 or 10 times as long, depending if the light replaced was incandescent or fluorescent. Either way, the more high energy halogen, incandescent, or fluorescent lights you replace, the more money you will save every month. Some towns and states even have a tax-rebate / government program that pays you / reimburses you for energy saving LED bulbs. Check with your local town, half the bill could be on them due to recent energy grants and programs setup by President Obama in early 2010. Over the full life of the LED fixture / tube or bulb, the money saved by using LED lighting will be enormous? Why's that? When factoring in the true price of lighting, you must include all 3 variables: Upfront costs, maintenance costs, and a maintenance main to routinely replace your lights.. that is of course, if you aren't using LEDs!

In my opinion, LED lighting will replace fluorescent lighting since it meets the requirements of sustainable development, incandescent lighting, due to energy savings and durability, and halogen lighting due to the heat, safety factor, and of course energy usage! Replace your money hungry lights at the home, office, hotel, Casino, college, dorm, or even your RV to save battery power! Go green and truly be eco-friendly with LED lighting, and don't forget to PROPERLY dispose of CFL lights in a sealed garbage bag (or two, or your garbage mans health).

Fobsun is a global leading provider of LED lights, LED lighting solutions with high efficiency and eco-friendly technology and a professional supplier of Flexible LED Strips, LED Downlighting, LED Down Lighting products containing no toxic mercury with more efficiency and longer lasting life than both incandescents and CFLs.

The Evolution of Technology - The History of Computers

While computers are now an important part of the lives of human beings, there was a time where computers did not exist. Knowing the history of computers and how much progression has been made can help you understand just how complicated and innovative the creation of computers really is.

Unlike most devices, the computer is one of the few inventions that does not have one specific inventor. Throughout the development of the computer, many people have added their creations to the list required to make a computer work. Some of the inventions have been different types of computers, and some of them were parts required to allow computers to be developed further.

    The Beginning

Perhaps the most significant date in the history of computers is the year 1936. It was in this year that the first "computer" was developed. It was created by Konrad Zuse and dubbed the Z1 Computer. This computer stands as the first as it was the first system to be fully programmable. There were devices prior to this, but none had the computing power that sets it apart from other electronics.

It wasn't until 1942 that any business saw profit and opportunity in computers. This first company was called ABC computers, owned and operated by John Atanasoff and Clifford Berry. Two years later, the Harvard Mark I computer was developed, furthering the science of computing.

Over the course of the next few years, inventors all over the world began to search more into the study of computers, and how to improve upon them. Those next ten years say the introduction of the transistor, which would become a vital part of the inner workings of the computer, the ENIAC 1 computer, as well as many other types of systems. The ENIAC 1 is perhaps one of the most interesting, as it required 20,000 vacuum tubes to operate. It was a massive machine, and started the revolution to build smaller and faster computers.

The age of computers was forever altered by the introduction of International Business Machines, or IBM, into the computing industry in 1953. This company, over the course of computer history, has been a major player in the development of new systems and servers for public and private use. This introduction brought about the first real signs of competition within computing history, which helped to spur faster and better development of computers. Their first contribution was the IBM 701 EDPM Computer.

    A Programming Language Evolves

A year later, the first successful high level programming Language was created. This was a programming Language not written in 'assembly' or binary, which are considered very low level languages. FORTRAN was written so that more people could begin to program computers easily.

The year 1955, the Bank of America, coupled with Stanford Research Institute and General Electric, saw the creation of the first computers for use in banks. The MICR, or Magnetic Ink Character Recognition, coupled with the actual computer, the ERMA, was a breakthrough for the banking industry. It wasn't until 1959 that the pair of systems were put into use in actual banks.

During 1958, one of the most important breakthroughs in computer history occurred, the creation of the integrated circuit. This device, also known as the chip, is one of the base requirements for modern computer systems. On every motherboard and card within a computer system, are many chips that contain information on what the boards and cards do. Without these chips, the systems as we know them today cannot function.

    Gaming, Mice, & the Internet

For many computer users now, games are a vital part of the computing experience. 1962 saw the creation of the first computer game, which was created by Steve Russel and MIT, which was dubbed Spacewar.

The mouse, one of the most basic components of modern computers, was created in 1964 by Douglass Engelbart. It obtained its name from the "tail" leading out of the device.

One of the most important aspects of computers today was invented in 1969. ARPA net was the original Internet, which provided the foundation for the Internet that we know today. This development would result in the evolution of knowledge and business across the entire planet.

It wasn't until 1970 that Intel entered the scene with the first dynamic RAM chip, which resulted in an explosion of computer science innovation.

On the heels of the RAM chip was the first microprocessor, which was also designed by Intel. These two components, in addition to the chip developed in 1958, would number among the core components of modern computers.

A year later, the floppy disk was created, gaining its name from the flexibility of the storage unit. This was the first step in allowing most people to transfer bits of data between unconnected computers.

The first networking card was created in 1973, allowing data transfer between connected computers. This is similar to the Internet, but allows for the computers to connect without use of the Internet.

    Household PC's Emerge

The next three years were very important for computers. This is when companies began to develop systems for the average consumer. The Scelbi, Mark-8 Altair, IBM 5100, Apple I and II, TRS-80, and the Commodore Pet computers were the forerunners in this area. While expensive, these machines started the trend for computers within common households.

One of the most major breathroughs in computer software occurred in 1978 with the release of the VisiCalc Spreadsheet program. All development costs were paid for within a two week period of time, which makes this one of the most successful programs in computer history.

1979 was perhaps one of the most important years for the home computer user. This is the year that WordStar, the first word processing program, was released to the public for sale. This drastically altered the usefulness of computers for the everyday user.

The IBM Home computer quickly helped revolutionize the consumer market in 1981, as it was affordable for home owners and standard consumers. 1981 also saw the the mega-giant Microsoft enter the scene with the MS-DOS operating system. This operating system utterly changed computing forever, as it was easy enough for everyone to learn.

The Competition Begins : Apple vs. Microsoft

Computers saw yet another vital change during the year of 1983. The Apple Lisa computer was the first with a graphical user interface, or a GUI. Most modern programs contain a GUI, which allows them to be easy to use and pleasing for the eyes. This marked the beginning of the out dating of most text based only programs.

Beyond this point in computer history, many changes and alterations have occurred, from the Apple-Microsoft wars, to the developing of microcomputers and a variety of computer breakthroughs that have become an accepted part of our daily lives. Without the initial first steps of computer history, none of this would have been possible.

    Minnesota Casinos

Minnesota Casinos are located in the "Land of 10,000 Lakes," a Northern state known for its natural beauty, cultural attractions, and a prosperous economy. Minnesota, ranked as the "Most Livable State" in the United States, has a population of over 5,000,000 people and an area of 79,610 square miles. The capital of Minnesota, St. Paul, with a population of approximately 280,000, is located adjacent to Minneapolis on the Mississippi River. The two cities are often referred to as the "Twin Cities" of Minnesota.

There are a number of Minnesota Casinos scattered throughout the state, either located on Native American Tribal land or under Native American jurisdiction. Minnesota has 22 tribal-state regulations for Minnesota casinos, which allow blackjack, slots, craps, and other video gaming machines, while separate tribal agreements allow Poker and bingo. The Mystic Lake Casino, in Prior Lake, is the largest in Minnesota, with 125,000 square feet, 4,000 slots, 84 table games, four restaurants, and a hotel. The Treasure Island Resort and Casino, in Welch, is another large casino, with 116,000 square feet of gambling area, 2,500 slots, 44 table games, seven restaurants, and a small hotel.

Another popular Minnesota casino is Jackpot Junction, in Morton, with 80,000 square feet, 1,650 slots, 28 table games, with blackjack and Poker, as well as nine restaurants and two hotels. In addition, Minnesota casinos include the Grand Casino Hinckley, with 54,800 square feet, 2,170 slots, 47 table games, six restaurants, and four hotels; and the Grande Casino Mille Lacs, in Onamia, with 54,800 square feet, 1,885 slots, 24 table games, five restaurants, and two hotels.

Some of the smaller Minnesota casinos include the Fortune Bay Resort Casino, in Tower, with 50,000 square feet, 686 slots, and 12 table games; the Northern Lights Casino, in Walker, with 40,000 square feet, 950 slots, and 12 table games; and the Fond-du-Luth Casino, in Duluth, with 20,000 square feet, 745 slots, and four table games. The Prairie Edge Casino Resort, a smaller casino in Granite Falls, has 27,000 square feet, 660 slots, and six table games.

Minnesota casinos do not provide any revenue in the form of taxes to the state of Minnesota. There are some fees, however, that compensate the state to some extent for inspections and other items in the tribal agreements. Minnesota is rich in natural attractions, a land of "sky-tinted" waters, with an economy that might be well be enhanced with the expansion and introduction of more casinos in the future.
